福建医科大学医学系本科,福建中医学院西医学中医本科毕业文凭。毕业后从事临床病理和骨科工作。进修于MAYO CLINIC骨科临床。受聘于加州南湾大学任中医针灸学副教授,中医针灸门诊部主任 (clinic supervisor),临床医学部主任(clinical science department chair)。撰写了美国中医学院博士班课程设计并编写了博士班的教材。该课程设计获美国加州教育局审核通过,南湾大学也因此成为全美第一所可以授予中医学博士学位的中医学院。受聘为该校中医学博士班第一位导师及该校博士师资培训班导师。路易斯安那州立大学医学院家庭医学全科完成三年医学博士后住院医师培训。毕业后受聘于路易斯安娜州的Ochsner 医疗中心及多家医院任病房住院部医生,急症科,及ICU主治医师。创立美国家庭医学/针灸医学中心。现为该中心行政主任及主治医师。同时参加路易斯安那州立大学医学院家庭医学全科住院医师培训的带教工作。临床专长:家庭全科,运动医学,中西医结合康复。曾经受聘为美国全国马拉松比赛新奥尔良赛区运动医疗队领队医师及美国大新奥尔良学区高中橄榄球季节赛场地运动医疗队随队医师。多次被当地社团,医院,及医学院邀请进行相关的学术讲座。

Qualifications and experience:

Wei Guo, MD is the only family physician in the US who completed three years of acupuncture training in China after medical school. He is the founder and CEO of Family Medicine & Acupuncture, and organization dedicated to providing an integrated continuity of care for the whole patient. Dr. Guo earned his medical degree in 1989 from Fujian Medical College in China. He completed his orthopedic residency training in China and served as an orthopedic attending physician in a level I trauma center, specializing in trauma, spine surgery, and sports medicine. He also trained in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), receiving his degree from Fujian TCM University in 1997. Dr. Guo was a visiting clinician in the Orthopedic Department at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN in 199. Since then, he has received a California acupuncture license and joined the staff at South Baylo University (SBU) in California, serving as clinic supervisor, associate professor in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and department chair from 2000-2006. When he passed the United State Medical License Examination (USMLE) and was certified by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) in 2005, Dr. Guo decided not to be an orthopedist, as he wanted to care for the whole patient. After he completed a one year internship in general surgery at the University of Southern California (USC) Medical Center, Los Angeles, CA in 2007, Dr. Guo completed his residency in Family Medicine at LSUHSC School of Medicine in 2010, having trained at Ochsner Medical Center-Kenner. Wei Guo, MD is licensed in both Louisiana and California. His specialties are Family Medicine and Acupuncture. He is also experienced in Sports Medicine, Rehabilitation, Depression, Sleep Disorders, Sexual Dysfunction, and Infertility. Dr. Guo envisions Acupuncture as an integral part of medical care. He believes that by combining Eastern and Western Medicine he will provide a much higher level of care for all patients. He has over 20 years of patient care experience in all facets of patient care and desires to be the primary care physician for the whole patient.
